We are responsible for what goes into our body, mind and spirit. Nutritious food is necessary in order to nourish and maintain our life. Our health is dependent on not what we consume so much as what we digest. Does the food you consume end up consuming you? We have heard the saying prevention is better than cure; however, we are more prone to look for cures than working on prevention.
The food we eat with our mouth should give us essential nutrients to help maintain our physical body. If we lack nutrients we become deficient and will experience physical and at times mental/emotional consequences. When we eat foods that are not healthy for us or foods that have very little nutritional value (junk food), over time we can/will develop illnesses. Is your body healthy? Although what we eat (foods) impact on the mind and emotions, our minds are not nurtured by food we eat. Our mind is nourished and nurtured by what we hear and see. If we continue over time to put junk into our minds, we will experience emotional breakdown which can further lead to physical and spiritual pain. Have you ever given thought to what and who feeds your mind? What governs your thoughts? Is your mind healthy? Possibly the most neglected part of our being is our spirit. What we don’t realise is that we often starve our spirit and we wonder why we feel so empty. You see if we neglect nourishing our spirit with the food it requires, we will begin to hunger for inner peace, joy and love. When was the last time you fed your spirit? Is your spirit hungry and/or thirty? Is your spirit healthy? No one but you and I are responsible for the food we consume. Make a choice today to nourish and nurture your body, mind and spirit with foods that will build you up and sustain you for years to come. It is what you consume and digest that will equip you to live and love your life.

What does it cost to be free? What does it feel like to be free… free like a river.
Fear, shame, guilt, anxiety… these things take over our peace. Once our peace is gone, we become clogged or stagnant. Have you ever noticed how algae tends to thrive in water that is not flowing. If the algae is not cleaned, fish or other living creatures will soon die. This is often the case with our lives. We let things come into our life & then instead of dealing with it and cleaning out the waste we tend to dwell on it. Before too long it starts to take over parts of our life a little bit at a time and before long we can feel stuck and not even realise how and when we got there. To have peace is to be free. Free from all that holds us back from living the life we are intended to live. Most often than not we are the greatest obstacle in our life, we create fear, nurture the fear through our thoughts and behaviour and then we eventually let it take over our lives. If today you are looking for peace, peace that flows like a river, peace that gives you rest, peace that passes all understanding. Then perhaps it is time to clean out the fear, the doubt, shame etc and let Jesus the prince of peace enter your heart. Peace is having the confidence that you are not alone but most importantly believing that God the father has you in His hand and He will not let go. May the peace of Jesus rule in your heart, captivate your spirit and lighten your load. The price for freedom is surrendering fear of the unknown to an all knowing God. |
