LIFE counselling services provide professional assistance, guidance and encouragement in resolving challenges, exploring relationships while identifying and developing self.
Counsellors affiliated with LIFE work collaboratively and are professionally trained, qualified and registered, bringing with them a range of expertise and experience that can assist you on your journey. Referrals are not required. We provide individual, couple, family, workplace ( employee assistance programs - EAP) and in-school counselling.

Fees Counsellors may charge based on expertise and experience, feel free to discuss the fee with your counsellor. Our fees are based on the gap you would usually expect to pay seeing a psychologist. Counselling sessions are 50 minutes and referrals are not required for any of our services.

Kim Johnstone - 0458 653 302 BA (Counselling), MACA (Level 4) & CCAA (Clinical) Kim works with individuals and couples who experience various issues, including trauma, loss and grief, gender identity and sexuality, life transitions (school, work, cross-cultural), and mental health challenges. Kim has been helping people from different backgrounds and circumstances for over 30 years. Living and working in Africa with her young family for over ten years has meant she is adept at creating a safe space and is comfortable connecting with people of varying ages and experiences.
Kim’s approach to counselling is to create a safe and trusting space to enable recovery and healing. She does not focus on any particular mode of counselling but draws on various approaches (CBT, EFT, sand play and Gottman) and resources: it is a holistic approach that respects the impact of life circumstances on mind, body and spirit. Jen Riley – 0421 315 935 M Community Counselling, CPE, BSc Computer Science, Grad Dip Pastoral Care, Cert IV Christian Ministry & Theology, CPE specialist training. (CCAA & PACFA registered, SCA registered, VCC EM Chaplain. Jen has over 30 years of experience in people-oriented roles. These roles have included building customer relationships and troubleshooting in the computer industry, literacy and well-being training for secondary students, and worship ministry leadership and performance. Jen supports people through issues such as grief, anxiety, or depression arising from age—or stage-related life issues and experiences.
Jen's true passion lies in empowering individuals to overcome obstacles that hinder their personal growth and align with their core values. Ross Duncan - 0419 199 858 BCom, MMin, Grad Dip Div,, Grad Dip Theo, Grad Cert supervision (CCAA &CA registered) Ross has been working in trauma counselling and professional supervision since 2007. Ross has worked as a prison Chaplain and a former Police Crime Scene Examiner. To this end, Ross has extensive knowledge and experience of what it is like working within a challenging and traumatic environments and has responded to various traumas associated with childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence, addictions and personality disorders. In recent times, Ross has utilised his knowledge and skills to support survivors of trauma and sexual abuse through counselling and supervision services.
In 2022, seeing a need to support Christian workers and believers more holistically, Ross established Christian Life Support. This support primarily focuses on supervision, counselling, advocacy, Mediation and Coaching. It seeks intervention and strengthening strategies before the need for supported recovery. He especially loves helping individual clients discover their identity and life purpose through emotional, psychological and spiritual freedom. Grant uniquely tailors his counselling to individuals and couples he works with through an integrative approach that utilises Solution-Focused, Positive Psychology and Strength-based therapeutic approaches, with aspects of CBT where necessary. As a counsellor, Grant works with many individuals dealing with anxiety, grief and loss, relationships, identity, and addiction. He and his wife, Trudy, provide pre-marriage preparation and offer counselling to couples in conflict. Grant has worked in diverse people-helping roles with over 25 years of pastoral, chaplaincy, counselling, mentoring, and training experience. He also brings over 40 years of leadership experience to this. Grant provides Professional Supervision to various contexts, including counsellors, chaplains, and Church leadership.

Susanna Wang B App Social Sciences (currently completing), Certificate of Christian counselling, Dip of community welfare Susanna is a compassionate counsellor who strongly focuses on managing emotions, individual growth, and family relationships. Fluent in Mandarin and specialising in Asian culture, she brings a culturally sensitive approach to her practice, ensuring that her clients feel understood and supported.
With 15 years of experience working in various social welfare settings, Susanna is dedicated to promoting and nurturing the well-being of individuals, couples, and families. Her expertise is helping clients achieve balance and happiness in various aspects of their lives, such as work, family, and relationships. Additionally, she assists international students and new immigrants struggling to adapt to a different culture.
