Counselling is often viewed as a reactive action to challenges in life. However, counselling is beneficial for prevention, discovery, recovery, healing and restoration. LIFE counselling services provide professional assistance, guidance and encouragement in resolving challenges, exploring relationships while identifying and developing self.
Counsellors affiliated with LIFE work collaboratively and are professionally trained, qualified and registered, bringing with them a range of expertise and experience that can assist you on your journey. Referrals are not required. We provide individual, couple, family, workplace ( employee assistance programs - EAP) and in-school counselling.

Fees Counsellors may charge based on expertise and experience, feel free to discuss the fee with your counsellor. Our fees are based on the gap you would usually expect to pay seeing a psychologist. Counselling sessions are 50 minutes and referrals are not required for any of our services.

Children’s Services. “Supporting you on your journey to discover, heal & grow!” This is the commitment Amorelle offers in her role as a Counsellor. She is passionate about strengthening the family unit, through individual, couples & family therapy. She also brings her many years of experience as a child care educator, into offering therapy for children & young people, through child centred approaches & interventions.
Amorelle has also a strong focus on community and is a firm believer in the benefits of involvement through inclusive practices and programs. She believes that people flourish through strong and healthy relationships, which results in the building of strong and integrated communities. Kim Johnstone - 0458 653 302 BA (Counselling), MACA (Level 4) & CCAA (Clinical) Kim works with individuals and couples who experience various issues, including trauma, loss and grief, gender identity and sexuality, life transitions (school, work, cross-cultural), and mental health challenges. Kim has been helping people from different backgrounds and circumstances for over 30 years. Living and working in Africa with her young family for over ten years has meant she is adept at creating a safe space and is comfortable connecting with people of varying ages and experiences.
Kim’s approach to counselling is to create a safe and trusting space to enable recovery and healing. She does not focus on any particular mode of counselling but draws on various approaches (CBT, EFT, sand play and Gottman) and resources: it is a holistic approach that respects the impact of life circumstances on mind, body and spirit. She believes that each individual is unique and that life’s challenges are opportunities to learn and grow. She aims to provide support that encourages personal growth throughout the counselling process, regardless of the presenting issues.

Janet provides supervision to Chaplains and those in various areas of Pastoral Ministry, Counselling, Pastoral Care Workers, Ministry Students, and those in the Healthcare sector. Janet is an experienced Counsellor, Chaplain and Pastor with extensive experience in Nursing and Clinical Education; Post Graduate Tutor with AIFC. I have broad experience in School Chaplaincy; a Chaplain and Trainer with VCC Emergency Ministries, Police Chaplain and Pastoring.
Janet is passionate about providing a safe, non- judgemental, confidential space to journey alongside clinical and pastoral supervisees thus encouraging them to take time to reflect, explore, care for self and grapple with tensions within, thus equipping and enabling them to grow and mature professionally, personally, and Spiritually. Having worked in admin for over 10 years within the mental health sector, Tanya witnessed the many struggles people face and the joy of seeing lives changed. She has a deep passion for assisting people in flourishing and becoming the best they can be. Tanya enjoys open conversations and works well with adolescents and adults alike. She maintains a little sense of humour and values working collaboratively to achieve goals.
Tanya offers a warm and safe space with a supportive, empathic and direct approach to encourage clients to reach their full potential. Tanya is available for online telehealth consultations and at our Pakenham office.
Jen Riley – 0421 315 935 M (Community Counselling), CPE, BSc (Computer Science), Cert IV (Christian Ministry & Theology). (CCAA & ACA registered, SCA registered, VCC EM Chaplain.) Jen is currently completing her Graduate Diploma in Pastoral and Spiritual Care. Jen has over 30 years of experience in people-oriented roles. These roles have included customer relationship-building and troubleshooting in the computer industry, literacy and wellbeing training for secondary students, worship ministry leadership and performance, and supporting those through sickness and age-related issues. Jen’s delight is to help people find freedom from things hindering them while connecting with their values. Jen values the stories people entrust to her. She is available for counselling and/or pastoral and spiritual care through in-person or online sessions.
Ross Duncan - 0419 199 858 BCom, MMin, Grad Dip Div,, Grad Dip Theo, Grad Cert supervision (CCAA &CA registered) Ross has been working in trauma counselling and professional supervision since 2007. Ross has worked as a prison Chaplain and a former Police Crime Scene Examiner. To this end, Ross has extensive knowledge and experience of what it is like working within a challenging and traumatic environments and has responded to various traumas associated with childhood sexual abuse, domestic violence, addictions and personality disorders. In recent times, Ross has utilised his knowledge and skills to support survivors of trauma and sexual abuse through counselling and supervision services.
In 2022, seeing a need to support Christian workers and believers more holistically, Ross established Christian Life Support. This support primarily focuses on supervision, counselling, advocacy, Mediation and Coaching. It seeks intervention and strengthening strategies before the need for supported recovery. The mantra I have adopted for this work is "Life is more than survival...it's about flourishing!". Ross is available in person in Gippsland, Doncaster and Clayton, as well as online.
Grant Buchanan - 0424 033 966 Dip Counselling, BTh, MA, PhD, (ACA. registered) Grant is passionate about people and their flourishing in all areas of life. He especially loves helping individual clients discover their identity and life purpose through emotional, psychological and spiritual freedom. He brings this passion to his counselling, mentoring and supervision relationships, providing a non-judgemental, person-centred space where individuals' needs, concerns, dreams, and challenges can be safely and holistically explored. Grant uniquely tailors his counselling to individuals and couples he works with through an integrative approach that utilises Solution-Focused, Positive Psychology and Strength-based therapeutic approaches, with aspects of CBT where necessary. As a counsellor, he works with many individuals dealing with anxiety, grief and loss, relationships, identity, and addiction. With his wife, Trudy, he provides pre-marriage preparation, and they offer counselling to couples in conflict. Grant has worked in a diverse range of people-helping roles with over 25 years of pastoral, chaplaincy, counselling, mentoring and training experience. He also brings over 40 years of leadership to this. Grant is currently completing his MA Counselling and will complete his Grad Cert Professional Supervision at the end of 2023. Under the auspices of Alphacrucis University College, he can provide Professional Supervision to a wide range of contexts, including counsellors, chaplains, and Church leadership.
Stephanie de Niese - 04385900890 BA, M Counselling & Psychotherapy (PACFA registered) Stephanie is a counsellor and psychotherapist who offers humanistic-experiential therapy sessions while drawing on a range of modalities. Stephanie's desire is to provide a safe space for people to be truly heard and seen. Stephanie's approach to wellbeing illuminates a reciprocal relationship between the movement of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of self. Stephanie's focus is to guide the client as they process and uncover the depths of their person. Allowing the clients to understand themselves better, their emotions, needs, and wants, and improve their relationships with others.
Steph now incorporates her many years of teaching dance and fitness into therapy towards a holistic approach. Steph works in Mornington and is available online.
Susanna Wang B App Social Sciences (currently completing), Certificate of Christian counselling, Dip of community welfare Susanna is a compassionate counsellor who strongly focuses on managing emotions, individual growth, and family relationships. Fluent in Mandarin and specialized in Asian culture, she brings a culturally sensitive approach to her practice, ensuring that her clients feel understood and supported.
With 15 years of experience working in various social welfare settings, Susanna is dedicated to promoting and nurturing the well-being of individuals, couples, and families. Her expertise lies in helping clients achieve balance and happiness in various aspects of their lives, such as work, family, and relationships. Additionally, she assists international students and new immigrants struggling to adapt to a different culture.
Susanna aims to raise awareness and promote holistic well-being, inspiring, equipping, and encouraging individuals and families to strengthen their communities. Susanna is available within the Mitcham area as well as online.
