Jesus gave His life that we may live life abundently in freedom understanding Gods love that dispells fear. Furthermore it is His grace and mercy that sets us free from guilt and shame.
Jesus gave His life, it wasn't taken from Him, He freely gave it; the purpose was that we may not just have life but have life abundantly (John 10:10). If you are reading this article the chances are that you have life, my question to you then is are you living your life in abundance or in freedom? The chances are that if you are carrying a burden that is too heavy for you to carry or that is not intended for you to carry then, you are either doing life or surviving but not living life in abundance.
Jesus lives so that you and I can also live life to the fullest with - freedom, peace, joy, hope... God sent His Son (John 3:16) and Jesus gave His life (Galatians 1:4) that we may not just enjoy the abundance on earth but into eternity as we believe in Jesus Christ who is the risen Messiah.
This Easter take a moment to stop and look at your cross/burden/sin you are carrying that is keeping you from living life to the fullest. Take it to Jesus, His life, death and resurrection will make a difference in your life, if you surrender your life to Him. Its in the surrender that you give up your cross, why do you want to carry a cross, when He is not on a cross? Surrendering something is not the end but the beginning; the beginning of new possibilities, discoveries, living in freedom...
We often miss the good things that are going on in our lives & we even don't remember them as often. I think this is because we spend most of the time focusing on the negative. When we spend time dwelling on the negative or things that are going wrong - that is all we will see.
It is so easy to miss the small but significant positive things that go on in our lives on a daily basis. Life is not easy, but if we want to live rather than just survive it, we must be people who look for the positive rather than dwelling on the negative stuff. We must be people who are thankful with what we have. We must be people who can appreciate the simple things in life. We must be people who have a heart of gratitude.
I encourage you to enjoy today, for today is a gift, the opportunities you have today may never come your way again. Face each challenge with a smile, challenges are their to make us stronger. In every new challenge you can learn new skills, gain new insights & perhaps even gain some new insight into the strong person that you are.
I love feeling the breeze, especially on a warm day. It is so soothing. We don't see it but we see the affects of it.
Just as soft breeze blows and refreshers us, we often have many refreshing happenings in a day. Yet, we more often focus on the things that cause us discomfort. What I mean by this is - if a wind blew, the dandelion would not have any of its dried petals left, yet with a breeze they are gently expelled from the core.
I don't think we often appreciate the simple things in life, we may see and feel the wind, yet we may miss the breeze. I encourage you today to take a moment and appreciate the simple but profound incidences in your life. It might be a smile from stranger, a polite gesture, an open door, a thank you, a message from a friend....
Whatever you encounter today, look for the simple things that make life more enjoyable.
